Do you consider your burs to be your cutting
edge in managing tooth decay? If so, you are missing out on
the greatest leap dentistry has made in the last decade. Minimally
invasive (and maximum intervention) dentistry is no longer a
term used by academic dentists who refer to themselves as “cariologists.”
The dental profession now has a large collection of diagnostic
aids as well as a myriad of treatment modalities for controlling
the caries process. This course will focus on providing participants
with the knowledge and tools to successfully treat dental caries
following a simple medical model. Incorporating a medical model
caries management into your practice increases your profit,
increases the success of your restorative treatment,
and can increase the number of new patients coming into your
office each week.
This presentation will provide an overview
of the etiology of sensitivity and how best to eliminate it
from your patient’s mouth.
Dr. Brian Nový is an Assistant Professor at Loma Linda
University School of Dentistry and maintains a private practice
in Southern
California dedicated to Maximum Intervention Dentistry. He is
known for his unusual ability to lecture on dental materials
